A look forward at the happenings in Milton the week of August 9 to q5.
Every Monday, Milton Patch will give you a rundown of what to expect in the week ahead. You'll find scheduled meetings and noteworthy events and maybe even where you'll find me this week.
This week will be highlighted by a few meetings, some entertaining event and the deadline for Town of Milton's RFP for the day-to-day operation of the Ulin Rink.
Thursday, August 12 all applicants who have interest in running the state-owned skating rink in Milton must submit their intentions. To this point some private companies and other groups have expressed interest in the permit. A non-profit organization called the Ulin Rink Management Corp. has also expressed interest in the facility throughout the process.

At Town Hall the Board of Appeals will hold a hearing on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and the Planning Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a site walk, followed at 6:30 p.m. by a regular meeting. The Planning Board meeting will also include the rescheduled public hearing over the Hendrie's Building on Eliot Street.
Also on Thursday, author and Holocaust survivor Kurt Ladner will be speaking at Fuller Village at 2 p.m. Ladner has penned a book about his experience as a was a young Viennese Jew during the Holocaust.

Saturday at 7:30 p.m. First Parish Church of Milton will host Sisters in Song, a show tunes concert by Patch contributor Julie Fay, and her sister, Chris Faulkner.
