Three Things to Do in Milton This Weekend

Spend the weekend close to home with these three events.

Editor's Note: Every week Milton Patch will be giving you a list of can't miss events in town over the weekend.

Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone. The summer's last hoorah is upon us, which means you probably have a full schedule of parties, visits and activities already planned. But if something falls through or if the looming winds and rain from Hurricane Earl put a kink in your plans, Milton Patch has a few suggestions.

There are two events hosted by the Friends of the Blue Hills on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the reservation. First, the weed busters event, will teach participants about invasive species and then the group will help pull plants that are disrupting the habitat of the Blue Hills.

The second Friends of the Blue Hills event will require a little more labor. The Trail Crew needs help on various projects including brushing back trails. Training and tools will be provided along with water, snacks and lunch. Participants are asked to wear long pants and gloves.

The third suggestion can be done right from home on Sunday. Our popular Tying the Knot wedding series is coming to an end. Contributor Elizabeth Rightor has been interviewing local business owners this summer about the various aspects of planning a wedding. The series wraps up with a sweet ending, the wedding cake.
