Three Things to Do in Milton This Weekend

Stay close to home with these three events.

Editor's Note: Every Friday Milton Patch will be giving you at least three can't miss events in town over the weekend.

This weekend, we've found a pair of great charity events in Milton and a couple of sporting events for the Milton Academy Mustangs.

On Saturday, a group of volunteers will be catering to the needs of bargain shoppers, those with dirty cars and anyone with a sweet tooth at First Congregational Church.  The yard sale/ car wash/ bake sale event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is organized by a group of volunteers who have been involved in the rebuilding of New Orleans as a result of the Katrina hurricane for the past five years. The funds raised will help defray the costs for these volunteers to participate in a Habitat for Humanities program in Slidell, N.O.

Also on the charity side for Saturday is the Dress For Success Boston event at Galatea from 4 to 7 p.m. A portion of the sales from the event will benefit the worldwide organization, which provides business clothing to slightly disadvantaged women who are entering the workplace. There will also be complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres as well as a raffle.

In between, the two charitable options on Saturday, several Milton Academy teams will be competing. At 1 p.m. the boys soccer team will take on Tabor on the road. The girls soccer team is hosting Deerfield at 2 p.m. Finally, the field hockey team will round out the schedule with a 2:30 p.m., home game.
