Two Dorchester Men Charged with Assault After Milton Fight

A fight that took place in the back of Cunningham Park resulted in injuries and arrests.

Two Dorchester residents are facing charges for Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon after two  Milton residents were injured in a fight at the crater, a hangout in the back of Cunningham Park, on Saturday, March 16.

Deputy Police Chief Charles Paris said a group welding golf clubs approached a group in the woods and a fight began. He was unsure of the motive behind the incident.

John Feeney, 18, and Ryan Leary, 20, were two of the members of the golf-club-welding group. Paris said, they were the only two arrested, but police believe there are two or three others involved in the assault.

Feeney was charged with two counts of Assault and Battery With a Deadly Weapon, Receiving Stolen Property and Witness Intimidation.

Leary had a default warrant and was charges with two counts of Assault and Battery With a Deadly Weapon.

Paris did not identify the victims, but said the most severely injured person had a facial injury.
