Water Main Flushing to Begin This Month

Flushing could cause water discoloration.

The Milton Department of Public Works will begin its water main flushing program later this month.

The flushing begins Sept. 23 and will take place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. Flushing will continue until the program is finished, according to a town of Milton press statement.

Flushing could cause discoloration in the water due to dissolved iron, but the water is still safe to drink, the statement says.
