This week in Milton, students returned to the classroom, politicians are preparing for a final push before the primary election and high school athletes continue to get ready for their first games.

On Wednesday, September 1, students in the Milton Public Schools used various means of transportation to arrive just in time for the first day of classes. Milton Patch caught up with students at the Pierce Middle School and Glover Elementary School that walked and even rode scooters, taking advantage of the warm morning.

Also on Wednesday, a candidates forum at NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham was held for the two Democrats and two Republicans vying for a seat in Congress. There were two empty seats, however, as Democratic challenger Mac D'Alessandro and Republican Vernon Harrison were without their party mates Rep. Stephen Lynch and Keith Lepor.
