After 2 Dogs Killed, Natick Officials Call Upon Specialists

Two family dogs were killed in the past week by coyotes in Natick. With growing concern, Natick officials are addressing the issue.

NATICK, MA—After two family dogs were attacked by coyotes, officials are seeking professional guidance to address the issue, according to reports.

William Chenard, acting town administrator, and other Natick officials met with an animal specialistthis week to determine what, if anything, the town can do, reports Wicked Local Natick.

Two dogs were killed by coyotes recently, one on Border Road and another on Terrace Road. The specialists plan to give a report to Chenard to bring to the next Natick selectmen meeting on Monday, according to Wicked Local.

Following the first loss in which family pet Gooner was killed in the back yard of Terrace Road, according to WHDH-TV, the town post an alert to residents.

"As you may or may not be aware, there are coyotes in Natick and surrounding towns,"said the statement. "They have been here all along, however increased development leading to loss of habitat have led to them being noticed more frequently."
