MA State Police Implementing Middlesex County Sobriety Checkpoint
The sobriety checkpoint will happen across the county during the last weekend of April.
MIDDLESEX COUNTY, MA — The Massachusetts State Police will have a heightened presence in Middlesex County next weekend.
There isn't a special event, and Taylor Swift isn't heading to Gillette Stadium quite yet. Rather, the police have received a grant to implement a sobriety checkpoint on April 28 into April 29.
Information on where these checkpoints will be is limited, with officials stating that they will be "on a public way."

In a statement, officials said the purpose of the checkpoints are to "further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways."
The checkpoints will operate during "varied hours," officials added.
