Natick Schools Superintendent Finalists Announced

The candidates will run through a gauntlet of site visits, interviews and a community forum this week. A decision is expected on Friday.

NATICK, MA — The Public School District's quest to find a new superintendent is finally coming into the final days.

Natick's School Committee announced four finalists during a meeting on Monday, giving way to an idea of who will replace Anna Nolin as the permanent superintendent.

The candidates are:

  • Melissa Spash, Deputy Superintendent, Lawrence Public Schools
  • Priya Tahiliani, Superintendent of Schools, Everett Public Schools
  • David Thomson, Superintendent of Schools, Norwood Public Schools
  • Sandra Trach, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Wellesley Public Schools

On Tuesday, the candidates are scheduled for site visits to at least one elementary school, one middle school and Natick High School.

Also on Tuesday, each candidate will participate in a candidate forum. The forum, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Natick High School Auditorium, will be aired live at the link here, but is also open to the public.

Interviews by the School Committee are scheduled for Wednesday, and the committee will reconvene on Friday to vote on the final candidate. That meeting will also be open to the public, and is available to attend virtually on Zoom.
