Ways To Beat The Heat In Natick

NATICK, MA - As Natick experiences the summer's first heatwave, town officials offered tips to stay cool as temperatures are expected to hover in the 90s through Friday.

Michael Boudreau, Natick's public health director, said on Tuesday that the Community Senior Center, located at 117 East Central St., and the Morse Library at 14 East Central St. are designated as cooling centers for the town.

Another option to stay cool as well as find some retail relief is the Natick Mall at 1245 Worcester St. It is open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Elizabeth Claflin, the associate project coordinator for the Natick 180 Coalition, directed residents to the summer heat resources page on the town's website. It includes suggestions such as wearing a hat, staying in the shade when outdoors, applying sunscreen, and taking cool showers and baths.
