• A local favorite returns to the Stone Soup stage (eastbayri.com) — Singer-songwriter Catie Curtis, who now works as a psychotherapist in Newburyport, is briefly stepping away from her local counseling practice to return to the Stone Soup Coffeehouse stage in Providence this Saturday. After decades of touring and 14 albums, she’s focusing on balancing her Newburyport-based therapy work with selectively performing and continuing to write music that helps her process life and connect with audiences.
   

• MIT takes manufacturing education across the country (mit.edu) — A Newburyport manufacturer, Crystal Engineering, is helping shape MIT’s new TechAMP certificate program, which trains highly skilled manufacturing technologists without requiring four-year degrees. Local workers can potentially boost their pay and responsibilities by learning system-wide production, leadership, and automation skills through this yearlong mix of labs, online lectures, and company-focused capstone projects.
