3 Alarm Fire In Newton Centre

Three people were home and all three got out.

NEWTON, MA - Firefighters battled a multi alarm fire in a home in Newton Centre for more than three hours Tuesday night. One firefighter suffered a minor foot injury and two people were displaced, according to fire officials.

A call came in just around 11 p.m. about smoke coming from the attic at a home at the corner of Grant Avenue and Beacon Street.

When they arrived firefighters found heavy fire, and called for more help with a second and then third alarm.

Officials said there were three people home, and all three got out safely, but two were displaced.

The two and a half story single family home made of stucco on wood was built in 1913 and was last assessed as being worth $1,257, 000, according to the city.
