1. Land Use meeting. The Board of Aldermen's Land Use Committee will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the chamber at . The committee will hold public hearings for both and , who are looking to expand seating in their restaurants. To view the full agenda, check out the .pdf file to the right.
2. Babe Ruth finals. The Newton Babe Ruth baseball league will hold the second game of the finals tonight at Albemarle Field (250 Albemarle Road). The game is set to start at 8:15 p.m.
3. Is it art? The will host a lecture tonight titled with Nick Clark, chief curator of the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Clark will compare the work of famous illustrators with well-known artists including Matisse and Dürer. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

4. Just four days left to vote. The Newton Patch 2012 Readers' Choice competition is winding down, and you have just four days left to vote for your favorite local businesses. Voting ends Friday, Aug. 17 at midnight.
