Five Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 9
Land Use Committee meets, a special book event and movie filming at City Hall.

1. What are all those trucks for? Wondering what the commotion is at City Hall today? ABC is filming a TV movie. Roughly 150 cast and crew members will be on scene, so plan some extra time to find parking if you need to stop by City Hall or the Newton Free Library today.
2. Land Use Committee. The Land Use Committee will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Aldermanic Camber at Newton City Hall. The committee will hold a public hearing on a new restaurant, , as well as a hearing for some changes proposed to the Hotel Indigo site on Grove Street. 3. Farmers' market. Make sure to check out the summer/fall Newton Farmers' Market while you still can! It will set up today at Cold Spring Park from 1:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.

4. The Other Woman launch party. Newtonville Books will host local author and investigative reporter Hank Phillippi Ryan tonight for The Other Woman. The event kicks off at 7 p.m.
