Newton City Councilors Condemn 'The Mapping Project’ For Antisemitism
The website includes an interactive map of many Jewish organizations and individuals in and around Newton.

NEWTON, MA — A group of Newton City Councilors are condemning a new website called “The Mapping Project,” which they say is promoting antisemitism. what they call an antisemitic website recently published under the innocuous title of “The Mapping Project.”
The website, created by an anonymous group affiliated with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, includes an interactive map of many Jewish organizations and individuals in and around Newton that the group claims are “responsible for colonization of Palestine or other harms such as policing, US Imperialism and displacement.”
According to the City Councilors, the map displays how these Jewish organizations and individuals are linked to civic, governmental, academic, and other community organizations.

"It is alarming that this map is reminiscent of how Jewish organizations were labeled in Nazi
Germany in the years that led up to the Holocaust; Jews as the cause of the ills in society,” said the councilors in a letter Tuesday. "As members of the Newton City Council, we strongly condemn this website and the antisemitic hate that it promotes.”
