Newton School Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School, Vacations

NEWTON, MA — The first day of school in Newton for students is Sept. 3— and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Newton School District has released its 2019-2020 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays and federal holidays.

• 11/27: Early Release Day
• 11/28 - 11/29: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

• 12/23 - 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: New Year's Day (last day of holiday recess)
• 1/2: Back To School
• 1/20: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/25: Lunar New Year (recognized-Saturday observance)

February

• 2/17 - 2/21: No School (Winter Vacation)
