Newton Town Players Open Auditions for 'The Foreigner'
Auditions for Larry Shue's comedy, "The Foreigner," will be held Sunday, April 17 and Monday, April 18 from 7-9 p.m.

From Town Players:
The Newton Town Players have announced auditions for "The Foreigner" by Larry Shue to take place Sunday, April 17 and Monday, April 18 from 7-9 p.m.
This entertaining comedy takes place in a fishing lodge in rural Tilghman County, Georgia. Two Englishmen, Froggy and Charlie, arrive as guests, with Charlie having agreed to accompany Froggy on the trip after his sick wife begged him to go. Charlie's shyness keeps him from socializing with other guests, and in addition to being shy, he is depressed about his wife's illness and cannot find the words to reply to others. In order to alleviate his friend's stress, Froggy tells everyone that Charlie cannot talk because he is a "foreigner" from an exotic country and does not understand English. Taking Froggy's claim at face value, the lodge's guests quickly begin revealing their secrets, and Charlie soon discovers quite a few delicious scandals.
Timothy Huebenthal of Southbury will direct.
The production calls for five men and two women. If possible, actors should read the play in advance and be ready to read sides from the script. No appointment is necessary. All roles are available.
