Volunteers Needed for Annual Independent Living Day in Newtown
The annual Independent Living Day takes place Saturday, April 30 with registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

Newtown Youth & Family Services (NYFS) invites members of the community to its 18th annual Independent Living Day on Saturday, April 30 with registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m. A number of senior citizens in Newtown face increased costs of living without the ability to make additional money. They need assistance from their community in order to live independently. Individuals interested in volunteering must contact NYFS at (203) 270-4335 for further information or visit the organization's website to access a volunteer application. Volunteer opportunities are available from 9 a.m. to noon. Opportunities include a variety of tasks needed to prepare for spring (e.g. raking, mulching and window cleaning).
NYFS is dedicated to providing services to all seniors within the Newtown community. However, Independent Living Day primarily focuses on Nunnawauk Meadows.
