Newton's Top 5 Fastest Men And Women: Boston Marathon Results

NEWTON, MA — Yes, a lot of people from Newton ran Boston's 2019 Marathon. But how'd they do in this crazy weather? They're all heroes in our book, but the top finishers deserve a little extra recognition.

Jonas Hampton , 30, gets distinction of being Newton's fastest Boston Marathoner for 2019. He ran the race in 2:33:21. That's a pace of about 5:51 per mile. For 26.2 miles. Just let that soak in a bit.

The fastest lady was Chunhua Liu, 50, with a time of 3:28:32. Her pace per mile was 7:58. Again - let that sink in she ran that fast for 26.2 miles.

Spotted on the course:

Father and son duo Tom and TJ Morrison of Newton stood on the bridge over Commonwealth Avenue in Boston as runners finished their final mile, cheering them on like it was their job.

"It's the friendliness of the crowd that keeps you going from Hopkinton all the way in. So, we can do this for them," said Tom Morrison in between cheers.

Also: Remember that Newton Police officer who helped deliver a baby earlier this year? He stopped along the route to say hi to little Charlee.
