Saint Joseph School Announces New Principal, Assistant Principal
Both the school's principal and assistant principal have extensive backgrounds in education.

NEEDHAM, MA — The newly merged Saint Joseph School in Needham has new leadership, the school announced on Wednesday.
At the helm of the preschool through 8th grade school is principal Lauren Solomon. Dan Price has been named assistance principal. Saint Joseph School was born of the merger between St. Joseph Elementary School and Monsignor Haddad Middle School.
The release states Solomon attended Mt. Alvernia Academy and later received a bachelor's degree from Salve Regina University. SHe went on to earn a masters degree in education for School Guidance Counseling and a post-masters certificate from Cambridge College.

In more recent years, she has taught at Sharon public schools, St. John the Evangelist and Jackson School in Newton. She also served as assistant principal and interim principal at St. Joseph Elementary School.
“I look forward with great enthusiasm to my role as the Saint Joseph School Principal,” Solomon said. “My goal for St. Joseph School is to have our students be a part of something great and to fall in love with learning through not only our academic offering, but our faith and commitment to service as well.”

Price has taught in elementary and middle school positions at St. Ignatius of Loyola School, Scranton Preparatory School and The Epiphany School before becoming a guidance counselor and basketball coach at St. Joseph Parish’s Monsignor Haddad Middle School.
He also served as associate principal of elementary education at Lowell Catholic. Before his teaching career, Price received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Fordham University and a masters degree in Educational Leadership with a Catholic Schools focus from Boston College.
“My time at St. Joseph Parish’s middle school was one of the highlights of my professional career and I’m excited to be rejoining the team. I look forward to meeting the school community and working with Mrs. Lauren Solomon to create a collaborative, engaging learning environment for students and faculty,” Price said.
