21-Year-Old Lawrence Woman Dies In North Andover Vehicle Crash Sunday

The head-on collision occurred in the area of Great Pond Road. Three other victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A 21-year-old woman from Lawrence died and three other people suffered non-fatal injuries Sunday morning in a head-on collision between two vehicles in North Andover, the North Andover Police Department said.

The victim, who has not yet been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred in the area of 1800 Great Pond Road, police said. The victim was in the passenger seat of one of the vehicles —a 2004 Honda Pilot — the NAPD said.

According to police reports, just before 7 a.m., NAPD officers responded to the collision between a 2012 Chevy Pickup truck and a 2004 Honda Pilot.

The driver of the Honda Pilot, a 20-year-old man from Lawrence, and a rear passenger, a 22-year-old man from Lawrence, both suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 70-year-old man from Georgetown, also suffered serious-non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

All three injured parties were transported to Lawrence General Hospital for treatment, the NAPD said.

In addition to the NAPD, the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene of the crash, police said. That unit will work with Officer William Brush, of the NAPD, and the Essex County District Attorney's Office on the investigation of the crash, according to authorities.
