Lockdown At Central Catholic High School In Lawrence Ended
After school activities will continue as scheduled.

LAWRENCE -- There was a "soft" lockdown at Central Catholic High School triggered by a shooting in a surrounding neighborhood has ended, according to
Lawrence police told Central Catholic administrators the incident is over, according to school officials.
Students at the private school in Lawrence were dismissed normally. All school activities continued as scheduled.

The lockdown was triggered about 1:40 p.m. by a shooting in the neighborhood surrounding Central Catholic, the Eagle-Tribune reports.
During a "soft lockdown,"students remain in their classes and no one is allowed to enter or leave the building.

According to scanner reports, Lawrence police reacted to the call of "shots fired" around 1:30 p.m. and chased two suspects down Erving Avenue before capturing them outside 4 Bennington St., the Eagle-Tribune reported. As of 2 p.m., police were still looking for one or two other suspects.
