Contest At North Andover's MVCU Has $2.5K Prize, Chance At $25K
The "These Are My People" contest asks contestants to explain how the money will help them connect with loved ones.

LAWRENCE, MA — Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU) has announced it is partnering with Kansasa, a financial technology and marketing provider, for the "These Are My People" contest, which features $2,500 local prizes and a national grand prize of $25,000
The contest asks people to share their stories about how the prize money will help them connect with loved ones. Contestants have until Dec. 7 to submit a photo and a short explanation of why they want to win.
Entries for the local contest can be submitted online. The same entry can be submitted online for the national contest

The MVCU, with a branch in North Andover at 350 Winthrop Ave., will offer $2,500 to local winners. Meanwhile, the national contest will feature a $25,000 grand prize and two $10,000 runner-up prizes. National winners will be selected by a Kasasa panel of judges and announced on December 19.
"We are thrilled to partner with Kasasa on many fronts, but especially with this contest," said John Howard, president and CEO of MVCU. "To provide a cash prize to someone during the holidays, when it is often needed most, is a special honor and a reflection of the community service we prioritize at MVCU."

According to contest organizers, in addition to submitting their entry both locally and nationally, contestants can share their post on social channels using the hashtags #TheseAreMyPeople, #Merrmack Valley Credit Union, #Contest, and #Kasasa to encourage friends to enter to win.
"We believe your money should do more for you and your community. This holiday season, we're putting our money where our mouth is and giving back to help people spend time with their loved ones and strengthen their connections," said Gabe Krajicek, CEO of Kasasa. "We're helping community banks and credit unions do what they do best, give back to their communities."
