DC Shooting Victim Had North Andover Roots

Marty Bodrog served in the Navy for 22 years and loved the Bruins.

One of the victims in Monday's mass-shooting at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., was raised in North Andover, The Huffington Post is reporting.

Retired Navy Officer Marty Bodrog, 54, was among the 13 killed in that tragedy. The suspected gunman was among those killed.

Bodrog was born in New Jersey and spent part of his childhood living in North Andover. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1981 before serving in the Navy for 22 years. He loved the Boston Bruins, and the Huffington Post story notes that he developed his love of hockey while living in North Andover, known for its hockey team.
