North Andover Snowstorm: Trash Pickup Delayed

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover trash pickup has been delayed by the snowstorm, the town said Friday.

Recycling collection has not been affected and should be completely Friday, but missed Thursday and Friday trash pickup will happen on Saturday.

North Andover Public Schools had a traditional snow day Friday, among other local measures in response to the expected winter storm.

There were "no remote learning expectations for students or staff," Superintendent Gregg Gilligan said.

Because the state is not counting any remote learning days toward the required 180-day in-person learning requirement this year, there will be traditional snow days across the state Friday, unlike the hybrid or remote days some districts had last year.

The state also closed all "Stop the Spread" coronavirus testing sites on Friday.

Trash pickup

Trash pickup was delayed, but not recycling. All missed trash pickup from Thursday and Friday should be completed Saturday, the town said.

School snow day

North Andover Public Schools will have a "traditional snow day" with no remote learning expectations Friday.

Town Offices Closed

Town buildings are closed Friday due to the storm.

Parking ban

During a snow emergency, parking is banned on almost all streets in town. The parking ban will run from midnight Thursday to midnight Friday.

Merrimack Valley YMCA

The Andover/North Andover will open at 10 a.m., but childcare will be closed Friday.
