Friendly Toast Gets Okay For Fall Opening In North Andover

The brunch-themed chain is preparing to open a restaurant in the former Crossroads Plaza Fuddruckers location.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Friendly Toast won Select Board approval Monday to open a North Andover location.

The breakfast-themed chain has five locations in Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire, with the nearest location at the Burlington Mall.

The chain received approval for a liquor license and an entertainment license Monday for a location at the Crossroads Plaza, 550 Turnpike Street. It will be in the former Fuddruckers location.

The restaurant hopes to open in the fall, co-owner Scott Pulver told the Select Board. Pulver described the aesthetic as a "diner on steroids" and "1950s kitschy."

Friendly Toast is known for its brunch menu and serves its full menu all day — breakfast at dinner time and dinner at breakfast time.

New locations are also in the works in Chestnut Hill and Danvers, Boston Restaurant Talk reported.
