Garden Club $1,500 High School Scholarship

North Andover Garden Club accepting applications for 2023 Memorial Scholarship until April 15, 2023

The North Andover Garden Club’s Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce applications are now being accepted from local high school seniors for the Club’s $1,500 Memorial Scholarship. High school seniors interested in any type of post-secondary education for environmental science, horticulture, agriculture, forestry, botany, conservation, landscape design, or a similar field, are welcome to apply. All high school seniors who reside in North Andover are eligible, as well as children or grandchildren of NAGC members. Deadline to submit is April 15, 2023. The applicant must intend to attend Fall 2023 classes to be awarded the scholarship.

Debbie Schmidt, Scholarship Committee Chairperson, notes “The scholarship is offered to encourage future horticulturists, environmental scientists, conservationists, landscape architects, botanists, and foresters, while furthering the North Andover Garden Club’s mission to advance the science of horticulture, the conservation of natural resources, and the development of civic beautification.” It is given in honor of long-time Club member Richard J. Kulpinski (1938 – 2017) for his vast horticultural knowledge, his many contributions to the North Andover Garden Club and Town, his educational achievements, as well as his kindness, generosity, energy and remarkable talent for mentorship.
