Gas Leak Temporarily Closes North Andover Mall
Businesses at the mall reopened after crews capped the leak around midday Thursday.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover Mall was temporarily closed Thursday while crews dealt with a gas leak Thursday morning, Deputy Fire Chief Graham Rowe said
A contractor hit a gas line at North Andover Mall Thursday morning. The town asked residents to avoid the area while crews responded to the leak.
Public safety officials, Eversource and National Grid were dispatched to the mall, 350 Winthrop Ave, Thursday. There was no danger to the public, the town said.

As of Thursday afternoon, the leak had been capped and the area was cleared, allowing businesses to reopen.
Merrimack Valley Regional Transit briefly halted service to the mall due to the gas leak.
