Haverhill 21-Year-Old Killed In Wrong Way Crash With Truck
The fatal crash happened on Interstate 495 around 3 a.m. Friday.
HAVERHILL, MA — A Haverhill resident was killed in a wrong-way crash with a truck on Interstate 495 in Haverhill Friday morning, state police said.
State police received reports around 3 a.m. Friday of a vehicle going northbound in the southbound lanes on I-495. Soon after, police received calls that the vehicle "had crashed head-on with a tractor-trailer" near Exit 111.
State troopers, Haverhill Fire Department and Trinity Ambulance were dispatched to the crash site.

The driver, 21-year-old Sebastien Hidalgo of Haverhill, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hidalgo had collided with a truck driven by a 59-year-old Maine man. The truck driver had no apparent injuries.

"The truck was leaking fuel from the saddle tanks," police said. "All southbound lanes at the scene were shut down for approximately three hours and traffic was diverted to Broad Street in Merrimac for investigative and clean up purposes."
State police are investigating the crash. No other information is currently available.
