Holiday Events In North Andover And Nearby: Parades, Tree Lighting

The North Andover Santa Parade​ is scheduled for noon on Saturday. The Tree Lighting​ event is now scheduled for 4 p.m. on Dec. 4.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — There is no shortage of things to do in North Andover to get the winter holiday season off to a rollicking good start.

Christmas and Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, intersect this year, with Hanukkah running Dec. 18-26. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the holidays.

The North Andover Santa Parade is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday.

The parade starts at North Andover Middle School and travels down Main Street, turns onto Elm Street, Water Street, and back onto Main Street, ending at Sutton Street.

This year's parade will feature a monster truck from EarthWorks, several youth sports leagues and entertainment from several dance schools and musical groups.

The town's Tree Lighting originally scheduled for Sunday has been postponed to Dec. 4, due to a forecast of heavy rains and wind this weekend.

The rescheduled event is set for 4 pm. to 7 p.m. on the Town Common. There will be treats, entertainment — including caroling — and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
