I-495 Shut Down In Andover Due To Fiery, Multi-Vehicle Crash [UPDATE]

UPDATE: I-495 northbound has reopened, according to Andover Fire Rescue.


ANDOVER, MA — I-495 northbound in Andover was shut down due to a multi-vehicle crash involving fire.

Andover Fire Rescue posted the following on Facebook at around 11 a.m.:

I-495 North prior to Route 93 is SHUT DOWN. Companies are operating at a multi-vehicle crash with fire.

On 93 North, north of Dascomb Road, there is a brush fire in the median. Companies are on scene extinguishing the fire.

Additionally, other Andover Fire Rescue companies are operating at a crash involving a motor vehicle and tractor trailer unit on 495 South in the area of the Corbett Street bridge.
