Initial Cable License Renewal Hearing Scheduled

North Andover's Verizon license renewal public ascertainment hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 12.

North Andover, MA - The town is holding a public hearing on its cable television contract with Verizon on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. in the Senior Center's activity room #2 at 120 R Main Street.

The meeting is an initial Ascertainment Hearing to begin Cable TV Contract Renewal proceedings to ascertain the Town's cable-related needs pursuant to 47 USC 546(a) in preparation for negotiations with Verizon for renewal of their current contract ending June 1, 2018.

The public, North Andover CAM, and town departments are invited to comment on renewal needs which will include, among other things, discussion of capital and operating needs as they relate to PEG access.

The public is welcome to attend to discuss the availability and quality of Verizon Cable TV services and to comment on the Town and public's cable-related needs and interests and on Verizon's performance.

The Cable Advisory Committee is planning to release a public survey after this initial hearing and will be holding a larger, more formal hearing in the fall of 2016.
