More Than 2,800 Lose Power In North Andover

There were 67 National Grid crews in North Andover attempting to restore power Tuesday morning, according to the town.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Utility crews are working in North Andover on Tuesday morning to restore power after strong storms pummeled the region.

There are currently 2,838 customers without power in North Andover, according to National Grid's outage map.

The town of North Andover released the following statement:

"We have been in contact with National Grid throughout the storm. There are currently 67 National Grid crews in North Andover working to restore power to the area. They are clearing trees, fixing downed lines and working on infrastructure. If we receive more information on restoration time lines, we will be in touch.

"If your electrical wires to your home were damaged please call Town Hall for an inspection. Do not step into water that may contain electrical cords or other wires. If you live in the Glenwood or Fernwood area please check your basement for potential water.

"The Library and Senior Center will be open today for charging and warming as needed. The Library is open from 10AM-9PM and the Senior Center is open from 8 AM- 6PM. Please check our road closure map for updated information on road closures here." 

Winds reached as high as 90 mph in the storm, with many cities and town receiving more than 3 inches of rain. As of Tuesday morning, over 118,000 were still without power.
