NAHS Music Ensembles Earn Awards at WorldStrides Festival
The North Andover High School choir and band ensembles participated in the WorldStrides National Heritage Festival, Boston, in April.
Five North Andover High School choir and band ensembles participated in the WorldStrides National Heritage Festival, Boston, on April 8th and 9th, earning a number of trophies and awards.
Directed by Sara Durkin, the Treble Choir, Scarlet and Black Singers, and Concert Choir each earned gold medals, and the Sweepstakes Award for the Highest Scoring Choral Program at the festival. An Adjudicator Award was also received by the Concert Choir for earning an average score of 95 out of 100.
Under the direction of Justin Smalley, the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble each earned a silver medal, as well as the Sweepstakes Award for the Highest Scoring Band Program in the festival.

In addition, Luke Ralph (trumpet soloist) and Andrew Buchanan (piano accompanist) each earned a Maestro Award for Individual Performance.
NAHS also received the Sweepstakes Award for the Highest Scoring Music Program at the festival.

An invitation to the 2023 WorldStrides National Heritage Festival of Gold was earned, with potential destinations to include Chicago, IL, and Nashville, TN.
