New Details Emerge In North Andover Apparent Murder-Suicide
A woman who authorities believe killed her infant son and then herself had a troubled history, according to reports.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A mother suspected of stabbing her infant son to death before killing herself had a history of mental health issues and prior arrests, Boston 25 News reported.
Jennifer Paez, 35, and her 9-month-old baby boy, Valentino Paez, died in the incident.
North Andover police responded to a 911 call at 5:15 p.m. Monday at a Turnpike Street (Route 114) home and found the mother and her infant son with apparent knife wounds.

Jennifer Paez was pronounced dead at the house. Valentino Paez was taken via ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital and pronounced dead at about 6:30 p.m.
Court documents show that when Jennifer Paez died, she was awaiting trial for charges of domestic assault and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, according to Boston 25 News.

Following a December 2022 arrest in North Andover, a family member told a responding officer that Paez suffered from bipolar disorder and hadn't taken her medication. This led to aggressive and erratic behavior, Boston 25 News reported.
Shortly thereafter, Paez was arrested for blocking a Lawrence road with her SUV. Police said she stopped the vehicle in the road, causing a traffic jam, then sped off at 50 to 60 mph when police showed up, according to NBC 10 Boston. When police eventually stopped her, she became combative with officers.
