North Andover Brush Fire Consumes Over 150 Acres; Homes Damaged
Some residents near Boxford State Forest were forced to evacuate due to the expanding Sharpeners Pond Road fire.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The Sharpeners Pond Road fire in North Andover has consumed over 150 acres, and operations to contain the blaze will extend into the week, according to the North Andover Fire Department.
"Operations will continue into next week, and residents should expect extensive smoke in that area," fire officials wrote. "We are asking hikers and walkers to avoid the area. If you see flames near your home please call 911. As a reminder there is a fire ban in town including fire pits."
Some residents from homes near Boxford State Forest evacuated Saturday morning as brush fire closed in on their properties, WHDH 7-News reported. At least two homes on the street were damaged by flames. No injuries were reported.

Resources from around the region have been deployed in an effort to contain the fire, including air water drop operations and forestry personnel from surrounding states.
Broco Oil has responded with a disaster response vehicle to keep the fire apparatus, tankers, and forestry trucks fueled.
