North Andover Coronavirus Rate Above State Average

Over 4 percent of North Andover coronavirus tests came back positive over the last two weeks, according to the latest state report.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover's positive coronavirus test rate was higher than the statewide rate over the last two weeks, according to the latest Department of Public Health community-level data released Thursday.

In North Andover, 4.65 percent of tests came back positive from Nov. 21 to Dec. 4. Statewide, the positive test rate was 4.46 percent in that period.

The weekly average positive rate hit 5.01 percent statewide Thursday.

In that two-week period, North Andover had 220 cases, up from 177 in the previous week's report. That's 51.9 daily cases per 100,000 residents, on average.

The latest data also shows that nearly three-quarters of North Andover residents are now fully vaccinated. Over 80 percent have received at least one shot.

The town's most recent report, released Dec. 2, showed the majority of the town's cases were among the unvaccinated.
