North Andover Election 2022: Just One Candidate So Far
With just under a month remaining to get signatures, only one candidate has taken out papers to run in the town's annual election.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Only one candidate has taken out papers for North Andover's 2022 town election, Town Clerk Dawne Warren said.
One seat each on the Select Board, School Committee and Housing Authority will be on the ballot in the March 29 election.
Incumbent Select Board Member Rosemary Smedile is the only person who has taken out nomination papers, Warren said. She pulled papers to run for re-election but has yet to return them.

No candidates, including the incumbents, have come forward for the School Committee and Housing Authority seats, so far.

Candidates must collect 50 signatures from registered town voters and return them to the town clerk by Feb. 8.
Papers have been available for over a week and must be obtained by Feb. 4.
Candidates have until Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. to withdraw.
The last day to register to vote is March 9; the Town Clerk's Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day.
