North Andover Garden Club 2024 Scholarship Recipients

The North Andover Scholarship Committee is very happy to announce two recipients of the 2024 Memorial Scholarship - Oliver Peterson and Emma Swiniarski. Each will receive $1,500 toward their secondary education.

Oliver graduated from North Andover High School and is the son of a garden club member. He will be attending Oregon State Univ in the Honors Program for Environmental Engineering. “In the coming future, environmental protection and more importantly restoration will be the largest and most impactful fields of science and I am glad to be dedicating my life to a better future, even if I may never see it with my own eyes."

Emma Swiniarski graduated from Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical HS. She is attending Mass Maritime Academy studying Marine Science & Environ Protection. “For my future career, I plan to help protect many of the environment's natural marine resources. I also believe that plant life is essential because without plants less oxygen would be released and less carbon dioxide would be in the atmosphere."

Both are outstanding students and well deserved of the scholarships. They represent the Club's mission to advance the science of horticulture, the conservation of natural resources, and the development of civic beautification. We wish them all the best!
