North Andover Heroes: Recognize More People Making A Difference

Residents have nominated the North Andover Public Schools lunch program and the meal servers at Ashland Farm. Help us recognize more people.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The adage 'not all heroes wear capes' is more apparent now than ever. Countless people are putting themselves in danger by simply showing up to work in essential roles for our communities, risking possible infection from the new coronavirus.

At the height of the outbreak in Massachusetts, over 100 North Andover residents had the virus. Thirty-six residents have died, as of July 10.

Doctors, nurses, police and grocery store workers alike are just some of the professions with a high potential for exposure to the virus. Patch wants to recognize as many of these heroes as possible. North Andover residents have made multiple nominations:

North Andover Local Heroes: Meal Servers At Ashland Farm

Workers at Ashland Farm, many young, have continued to come to work to serve meals for the residents despite the risk.

"These young people have not missed work even though the people they serve have been quarantined at times. They have had coworkers test positive and yet they went to work. Many of them are high school students."

We know you've encountered or seen them around town, and we want to help recognize as many of these heroes as possible. If the heroism happened a while ago, at the height of the outbreak, that's okay.

Let us know about those making a difference in this difficult time by filling out the form below and we'd be happy to share their impact with the rest of the community.
