North Andover Offers Reminders About Warming Centers For Extreme Cold

The Stevens Public Library is open throughout the weekend and the Senior Center will welcome visitors during Friday's subzero temperatures.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — With temperatures expected in the low single digits or even below zero in the coming days, the Town of North Andover is reminding locals about places they can go to stay warm.

The Stevens Public Library, located at 345 Main St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the North Andover Senior Center, located at 120R Main St., is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

The North Andover Health Department added in a statement: "The best defense against the health impacts of cold weather is to minimize or avoid spending time outside whenever possible. Consolidating trips and errands, or postponing unnecessary tasks that involve leaving the house will help you stay warm during extreme cold spells."
