North Andover Police Issue Alert On Mail Tampering
Police said a resident's check was mailed from a local box that was later "forged to another person and for a whopping for $93,000."

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Police are alerting residents about a mail tampering and fraud incident.
The North Andover Police Department posted the following on Facebook on Wednesday:
"Mail that was dropped off at the USPS box by 108 Main ST (by Town Hall and TD Bank) on Sunday 2/23 may have been tampered with. A resident’s check that was mailed from that box was subsequently forged to another person and for a whopping for $93,000. Please check with your banks or payees for any mailed checks on or around this time."
