"When power is returned to your property, if you notice a difference such as flickering, dimming, or brighter than normal lights please call 911."
North Andover Public Schools released the following statement regarding Monday's closure:
Dear North Andover Public School Families and Staff,
While we have worked extremely hard since the storm to ensure our schools would be ready for tomorrow, there are still too many areas around town that need attention. The damage from the intense storm on Friday, September 8, 2023 has left North Andover with power outages, downed trees and wires, several impassable roads and debris on sidewalks. Tonight, after collaborating with the Public Safety, Public Works, School and Town officials, and Transportation we have decided that schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, September 11, 2023.
I’d like to thank our custodians, DPW, Police, Fire, School and Town employees for all of their efforts. They have been working around the clock since the storm hit. We will give them another day to continue the clean up and we will reassess conditions around town tomorrow. Until then, please stay safe.
Best, Dr. Gilligan
