North Andover Town Manager Murphy-Rodrigues Credentialed By ICMA
Melissa Murphy-Rodrigues is 1 of 34 government administrators in MA to earn the distinction from the government management organization.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Melissa Murphy-Rodrigues, the town manager of North Andover, has received the credentialed manager designation from the International City/County Local Government Management Organization (ICMA), the town announced this week.
Murphy-Rodrigues becomes the 34th government management professional in Massachusetts to be credentialed by ICMA. A little over 1,300 managers have that designation overall, according to the organization.
ICMA bills itself as the leading organization of local government professionals dedicated to creating and sustaining thriving communities throughout the world.

The organization's mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation and ethics by increasing the proficiency of administrators who serve local governments and regional entities around the world.
ICMA's credentialing program is voluntary and rewards members for having significant experience as a senior management executive in local government, earning a degree — preferably in public administration or a related field — and demonstrating a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

Murphy-Rodrigues has 15 years of professional local government experience, 13 of those as an executive. Before becoming North Andover's town manager in 2019, Murphy-Rodrigues served as the town manager of Sudbury and the chief of staff for the City of Everett.
Additionally, Murphy-Rodrigues serves as a member of the Women Leading Government Committee, and she was recognized as a top 10 finalist for the League of Women in Government Leadership Trailblazer Award.
