North Andover Woman Exits SUV On Highway, SUV Keeps Going And Crashes

Donna Dekow exited her SUV on I-93 in NH and was treated for injuries sustained in a fall. Two others involved in the crash were uninjured.

BOW, NH — New Hampshire State Police are continuing to investigate an incident in which a North Andover, Massachusetts woman exited her vehicle on the highway and the vehicle continued on unnamed before crashing into another vehicle.

The incident took place at approximately 10:01 a.m. Saturday on northbound Interstate 93 in Bow, New Hampshire, police said.

Donna Dekow, 68, of North Andover, was the driver of the vehicle that continued down the highway without her behind the wheel. NHSP said Dekow sustained injuries from a fall and was transported to Concord Hospital.

Udaya Gurung, 50, of Hooksett, New Hampshire, was the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash. Neither Gurung nor a passenger in Gurung's car was injured, police said.

According to police reports, Dekow was driving a 2019 Porsche SUV when she exited the vehicle on I-93. Dekow's injuries did not result from her being hit by another car, police said.

Though Dekow exited the vehicle, her unmanned SUV continued north on I-93 for approximately a quarter of a mile before crashing into the 2022 Honda operated by Gurung, according to police.

NHSP said its officers were assisted at the scene by the Bow Police Department, the Bow Fire Department and the Hooksett Fire Department.
