North Andover's Maddie Landers Named HS All-American In Soccer

The Pingree School senior and Boston College signee also was named the EIL Player of the Year and led her team to the NEPSAC Class B title.

SOUTH HAMILTON, MA — North Andover resident Maddie Landers, a senior midfielder at Pingree School, was named to the Girls High School All-America Team Monday by the United Soccer Coaches.

Just 62 girls from around the country were named All-American, and the players will be honored on Jan. 14 at the All-America Ceremony and Reception at the United Soccer Coaches Convention.

It was just the latest accomplishment for Landers, who helped lead top-seeded Pingree (22-2-1) to a 3-0 win over Lawrence Academy in the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class B final on Nov. 20.

Landers also was named the Eastern Independent League's (EIL) Girls Soccer Player of the Year.

In November, Landers signed to play at Boston College, where she had committed last spring.

At the time of her commitment Landers, who plays club soccer for NEFC, told New England Soccer Journal that she was excited to play in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

"Playing in the No. 1 soccer conference in the country was very appealing to me," Landers said. "Getting to play against some of the best soccer players in the country — I knew I wanted this, so I could be pushed to be the best soccer player I can be. It's a very competitive league and BC is also very strong with academics, so that was two very important factors for me."
