NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover's Watts Water Technologies, which makes plumbing, heating and water quality products and solutions, was named one of America's Most Responsible Companies by Newsweek magazine.

Newsweek partnered with global research and data firm Statista to compile information for the list. Companies were analyzed based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from corporate social responsibility and sustainability reports, as well as an independent survey of more than 13,000 U.S. residents, according to the magazine.

"At Watts, we believe that a safer world is a more sustainable world — a belief that we proudly reflect in each of our technologies and solutions, and our environmental and social commitments," said Robert Pagano, Jr., CEO, president and chairperson of the board.

Pagano continued: "We are honored to receive this recognition for the fourth year in a row, and are excited to continue distinguishing ourselves as a responsible and committed corporate citizen, finding strategic opportunities to advance each aspect of our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy."

Newsweek said that all corporations have an opportunity to follow a responsible path, though some do not make that choice.

"Corporations aren't just impersonal machines for making money; they are also members of the communities where their employees, customers and neighbors live and work," the magazine said in a statement. "Some, of course, take their environmental and social responsibilities as citizens of the country and of the world more seriously than others. Just as with people, companies can be bad neighbors or good neighbors, grudging or generous, helpful or unhelpful to those around them."

Newsweek continued: "The businesses on our list are in dozens of different industries and vary widely in size. But they all share a set of values and we are proud to recognize them."
