Opioid Awareness Event at North Andover High School
North Andover High School and North Andover Police are partnering to prevent drug use.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – North Andover Police will be at the high school on Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. for an educational event on opioid awareness. Students and families are invited to learn about drug abuse prevention, signs of abuse, and ways to safely dispose of prescription medications.
A pharmacist will be available to answer questions.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that more people died of drug overdose in 2014 than in another other recorded year. Six out of 10 of those deaths involved an opioid.

North Andover Police will also be participating in National Drug Take Back day on Saturday, Oct. 22. There will be a drop off area for medications at First and Main Marketplace on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
