On a day that felt more like summer, a team of enthusiastic volunteers spread 10 yards of mulch, pulled weeds and invasive plants, pruned, trimmed, raked, and spruced up Patriots Memorial Park in North Andover. Many hands made the work easier and it couldn't have been accomplished without the help of Scout Troop 87 (and parents), North Andover Improvement Society (Friends of the Park), neighbors, and North Andover Garden Club members. The park will be looking its best for the Veteran's Day celebration. A big thank you to all who participated!

The park was designed in 1922 by the Olmsted Brothers Landscape Architects and is part of the Tavern Acres National Historic District. The 2 ¾ acre park was gifted to the Town by the Stevens family as they developed the area as a home for the WWI Memorial. Located adjacent to the library, the park was refurbished in the 1990's and new plantings of trees and shrubs were put in, paths installed, and other monuments moved to the park. It is a true town treasure which provides a special place for quiet enjoyment and to honor all those who have given patriotic service to our community.
