Pedestrian Hit on Route 125

A girl was struck by a car on Route 125 in front of Chickering Plaza Tuesday night around 8:30 p.m.

Witnesses on the scene -- including two juveniles who were walking with the victim -- said the victim was a 9th grader. They said the car struck the girl, sending her flying over the vehicle and another several feet.

The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries. There is no word on her condition.

Police are still investigating the accident.
